Nigerian wrestlers have begun closed-door camping ahead of the 2026 World Wrestling Championships in Astana, Kazakhstan, from October 24 to November 1.

The camp is being held in Bayelsa and Ondo States, with athletes intensifying their physical, technical and tactical preparations for the global competition.

Nigeria Wrestling Federation Technical Committee Chairman Akuh Purity praised President Bashir Adewale Adeniyi for approving the programme, saying the initiative will help both home-based and foreign-based wrestlers prepare effectively.
