RB Leipzig have added firepower to their front line with the signing of Brazilian forward Rômulo from Turkish top-flight side Göztepe.

The 23-year-old has agreed a contract running until June 2030 and will wear the number 40 shirt this season.

Standing at 1.93m, Rômulo arrives in Germany after a prolific spell in Türkiye, where he made a major impact in just 18 months.

A statement on the club’s website on Friday revealed this.

The Maringá FC academy graduate first made headlines in Brazil by finishing as the top scorer in the U17 Campeonato Paranaense before moving to Athletico Paranaense.

In January 2024, he joined Göztepe, scoring five goals and providing three assists to help the İzmir club win promotion to the Süper Lig.

In his debut season in the Turkish top flight, Rômulo produced 17 goals and 10 assists – a return that caught Leipzig’s attention and paved the way for his move to the Bundesliga.
