Everton have bolstered their goalkeeping ranks with the signing of Republic of Ireland international Mark Travers from Bournemouth in a deal reportedly worth £4 million ($5.3 million).

The 26-year-old has penned a four-year contract with the Merseyside club, joining ahead of a landmark season that will see Everton move into their new stadium.

“I’m extremely proud and excited to be an Everton player,” Travers said. “Coming in, you can feel how big this club is and the history that comes with it. You really feel that with the fanbase, the new stadium now as well, and the direction the club is going in. It’s a really exciting time to be part of this massive football club and I just can’t wait to get going.”

Travers spent nine years at Bournemouth, making 82 appearances and establishing himself as a reliable shot-stopper. At Everton, he will provide strong competition for England number one Jordan Pickford in David Moyes’ squad.

The move is part of Everton's summer rebuild as they look to strengthen key positions ahead of the 2025/26 Premier League campaign and a new era at their state-of-the-art home.
