Technical Director of the Nigeria Football Federation and former Nigeria national football team coach Austin Eguavoen has obtained a FIFA Leadership Diploma after successfully completing a leadership programme organised by FIFA, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Eguavoen received the certificate at the FIFA headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland, marking a significant milestone in his professional development within football administration.
The team will face a challenging schedule in the round-robin competition, where they are set to take on Colombia, South Korea, Philippines, and host nation France.
The tournament forms part of the global qualification pathway organized by FIBA, where national teams battle for places at the next edition of the Women’s World Cup.
D’Tigress, who have dominated African women’s basketball in recent years, will be aiming to secure a ticket to the global showpiece by delivering strong performances against the international opposition.
The Nigerian side is expected to begin training sessions in Lyon immediately as the technical crew fine-tunes tactics and squad fitness ahead of their opening game on March 11.
