Thousands of protesters have taken to the streets in Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities, demanding the reinstatement of former Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov and the dismissal of Army Commander Oleksandr Syrskyi.

Protest leaders have threatened indefinite nationwide demonstrations if Fedorov is not reinstated by Friday.

President Volodymyr Zelensky is reportedly consulting top officials to defuse the political crisis, while the military has denied reports that Syrskyi is set to be removed.
